Hi,

I am wondering how feasible it is to transfer the hard drive off my existing machine complete with XP on (save re installing as I have loads of info and progs on it) and put it into a spanking new machine so I can run XP from my old hard drive on the new machine?

Cheers,

Pete

You can do that, as windows will just detect the new hardware when you boot.
However since its a completely new system, you'd be better off with a fresh install. I'd always have a fresh install.

Cheers, so I could do that easily - then transfer all my info onto another drive- then do a fresh install to the old drive? Would that be ok? Cheers,

Pete

Generally when you change motherboards, it is recommended to reinstall to stop problems developing.

You could try it though. :)
