Transferring stuff off VM TiVo

I just had a Sky salesman at the door and he suggested that it was possible to archive stuff off TiVo via Ethernet (as opposed tot he usual, slow method of doing it via SCART).

I know this is possible in some circumstances for US TiVos, and also for (modified) original UK TiVos, and I also know about the Virgin Media App. However, I'm not in the US, and the implication was of something more permanent than streaming, given that he was talking about cancelling Virgin at the time!

So, was his statement delusory?

i seriously doubt it tbh, it is possible, but it isnt that easy, you probably need to take the hard drive out and hook it up to a pc for a start.

probably one of those things they say in order for you to sign up and once you have signed up they have gotten their commission so don't really care what happens after that.
