Hi, last week I had to do a new build for my brothers mum in law. Went from a 503+/K6-2 with Win98se to an Asus integrated board with a Sempron 2.6 and XP. Quite a change for her and she is over the moon but one thing caught me out.
I used the "F&S TW" on the XP CD from Win98 and did a backup of everything she needed. I have used the TW numerous times before without a problem but this time I did. When I had finally set up XP on the new rig, it wouldn't import the file created in WIn98. At the time I just manually installed her apps and set up her Internet / Mail and copied her My docs folder (as I had made a manual backup too

Heres what I'm not sure of - I'm unsure if I had updated her PC from the MS WU site BEFORE trying the import - as there is a Hotfix for a problem with the F&S TW and going from 32 bit to 64 bit (though I thought the Sempron is actually 32).
Can anyone advise ?
I am juts about to do the exact same and really don't want to re-install all my apps. I'm going from XPsp2 on a P4 to XPsp2 on an Opteron.
