I have a OEM copy of Windows Vista and was wondering if I can use it on a new custom built PC?

I will be formatting the old drive.

Sorry but...

New custom built PC... please don't put Vista on it. Do you have XP or Windows 7 anywhere? I'm sure you can probably pick one up pretty cheap?

If vista is 0, then XP is 30000000000 times better than vista, you get it now?

I really don't get the Vista bashing 6 years after it was released. Yes, driver support, especially with x64 was patchy at release but this was ironed out a year after release. It's a great, solid, dependable OS.

Who would still bother using XP? It's the equivalent of running Windows 98.

It is too heavy on resources compared to either XP or Win 7 , that is why it is bashed

Who has a 1GB system? Especially as the OP is talking about a new custom built system. Windows 7 is a no brainer but if you had the choice of Vista or XP then Vista everytime. After SP1 it was fine.
