transformers on bluray?

As far as I can tell, there's no news on a release date. Lots of rumours and stuff, but nothing concrete confirmed.
I also read that Paramount had dropped Blu Ray as a format, but I imagine thats changed/changing as manufacturers are stopping making HD-DVD players.

I would imagine it will be fairly soon.
I think Paramount is either just waiting on a formal release from their HD exclusive contract, or are already gearing up for blu-ray releases (it will probably take them a little while to get a schedule sorted).

It might take a little while as all of the studios will be concentrating on getting their new films out on Bluray and then getting around to their back catalogue when they can.
Remember when DVD first started taking over from VHS?
Everything new appeared on DVD, but some of the slightlly older stuff took months to arrive on DVD and some of the even earlier stuff took years.
As Transformers isn't that old we can only hope that gets a Bluray reease sooner rather than later.

I would imagine as Transformers already had a HD-DVD release it would be relatively quick and simple for them to move it over to blu-ray (certainly for the main film as both formats could use the same codecs, so it could be a very simple job).
Unlike the VHS to DVD days when there was often a lot involved in moving over from the analogue to the digital format.
