Anyone else find that Transmission slows to a crawl through the last 0.1% of a download? It's doing my head in, as I usually get quite high speeds, but then it takes ages (I've waited upwards of an hour) for the last bit.

Seen one or two other forum posts online about the matter, but no solution

Have you tried using uTorrent? Its worked flawlessly for me on OSX so far.

I might give that a go. Just tried it with another file, got to 99.5% and it slowed right down, taking another 10 mins or so to complete.

Are you sure it's not due to few seeds with decent down rates?

You'll probably find that it's just because not many people are seeding the full 100%, completed file.

I've never had any problems on private trackers.

Are you sure its not just error checking or something at the end

It could be that it is waiting to get the last pieces from 1 or two people with a very slow connection.

Sometimes if that happens I find stopping then restarting the download will finish it much quicker as it connects to fast peers again.
