I've played a lot of half-life mods and this one is great fun. It's free on Steam.

TE120 is a short single player experience set in the Half-Life Universe featuring a gravity defying weapon that allows you to jump buildings and sustain large falls. The story takes place at a mysterious date & location. Where are you? Why have you been sent?

Currently playing this and quite enjoying it. Some pretty good visuals - especially if you consider how old the source engine is.

Wow, I forgot just how much you had to think in the older games, nowadays games just lay everything right in front of you and don't make you work for any form of accomplishment, give you health regen, tons of ammo then proceed to checkpoint a, kill people, proceed to checkpoint b, kill people and so on...

First 5 minutes of this, I couldn't figure out how to get past the locked gate, knew I needed a weapon to break the padlock but I couldn't see one anywhere then remembered that you could move boxes and use that to get to higher up places i.e. inside the train :p :o

If you like HL 2, this mod is great, graphics are still pretty nice and 21.9 works flawlessly:

The gaming industry badly needs a half life 3 to happen!

I missed Half Life the first time around and after only playing Half Life 2 for the first time this year I've just started playing Black Mesa which I'm loving so far and looking forward to understanding what was going on in Half Life 2 a bit more. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but do the mods for Half Life work for Black Mesa?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but most half-life mods now are mods for Half-Life 2. Black Mesa is a remake of Half-Life (the original) in the Half-Life 2 world, if you know what I mean, although it is standalone. What are you looking for?

This was really short, I didn't think it would be that short! :(

Still, it was excellent.

Would love to see a survival based game on the half life world/source engine.

Just curious to know if you need the original Half Life game to play the mod the OP is referring to or are you saying the mods are all played through the Half Life 2 game?

Not bad, nice use of light/dark for a while. Thought the ending was far too similar to EP2 though, just city based rather than countryside.
