Transmit GPS Data from Android Phone to Laptop
I want to run my laptop (which has a wifi dongle) in an isolated location, out doors with no router.
I want to run my android mobile phone in the same isolated location.
I then want to transmit my GPS co-ordinates to the laptop, via wifi.
For the purposes of this project, assume that there is no network coverage. So no internet access.
Now I have seen that there are ready made android apps, which allow you to transmit gps data to a laptop, but the problem is that they need an ip address. Now, if I am running the laptop in an isolated location, with no router, what ip address can I give, so that the phone can connect and send data to the laptop?
Would a Mac address do the trick?
Can someone point me in the right direction?
