just a quick Q, iv got a ridiculously thick brother who hasnt bothered sorting himself travel insurance out, and hes gone away with my best mate today(well yesterday) and their 1st night there hes gone and started himself and come out worse for wear(serves him right, hes a nob when hes drunk), already got black eyes, buggered nose, bust lips and sore ribs etc.
Anyways, i recon 2moro hes probly going to wake up feeling it and will want to go to a hospital but will avoid it and pretend hes fine, because hes not got any insurance, but since hes in benidorm i thought since it was EU it was easy enough to charge it back to NHS for a GB citizen or something?

Just more wondering myself than caring about him, he deserves to be in pain till the weekend when he comes back, back to the whole family being at home too to grief him and have a right go.

In the EU you can but Travel Insurance isn't just for health, but the E111 card is what you needed but its changed to/from? a European Medical Card, you have to send off for it a few weeks before your trip, as it takes a while to come through.

Not true, I'm off on Friday and I completely forgot about the card until I rang up on last Thursday, it arrived on Monday(!); not bad though I was honest and explained I forgot.

if you get registered for a card then all you need is your NI number and their emergency number (an 0191 no) and they can sort out even without the physical card
