Hello

I just realised that getting travel insurance could be something useful for my trip home to Sweden on Friday as my EHIC isn't valid anymore due to Brexit.

I'm will be playing a little bit of football with my brothers and friends but also want some basic cover just in case.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas where to turn? Or what provider to use?

I've always just gone for the cheapest one through the comparison sites that looks to cover the things i want, rather than use a specific provider.

I've never actually had to claim though.

Check your bank account, we get worldwide cover with our NatWest account, you will need to declare any medical conditions you currently have but I only have pay extra because I'm diabetic.

I'm having the very basic bank account with Lloyds so no travel insurance there.

Will look into that during my shift tonight.

Even before, with the EHIC you'd still want travel insurance, as it essentially just entitled you to the same treatment as locals, I assume the GHIC is something similar? It's not going to pay for your hotel if you can't travel due to a health condition or specialist travel etc.

Oddly just been looking at this tonight as fly to Lanzarote on Fri. I added barclay travel pack insurance as they are listed 2nd out of several hundred providers by which. £12.50 pm and includes car breakdown.

As long as Ehic is in date it's still valid, apart from some countries and Gov.uk shows which. Ghic is replacement. I didn't think this was still a thing and it's probably too late to sort it now, plus nhs page where you apply is down for maintenance anyway (or at least it is on desktop chrome? works on edge and mobile?).

Edit: Apply here. Don't fall for the scam sites that charge.
