Another thread about my trip to Tenerife i'm afraid.

As the topic states really. I have always assumed using notes and coins would be easier, accepted everywhere? Never used traveller's cheques before so i have no knowledge about them except that they might be safer?
Or just take both? I'll be taking around €300-350 with me.

Second question, can i access my bank account from Tenerife? My first thought was no but thinking about it, surely it could be possible? Link machines? /shrugs.

yes you can access bank

up to you really , cash is less hassle but travellers cheques safer

oh and as before , that amount of money is not going to last long :p

Just use ATMs when you get out there like normal ...... lol this is the 21st cent. you know :)

Travellers cheques are just hassle IMO, I take a few Euros and then use my debit card at ATM's when I'm over there.

Yeah, that's what i first thought about cheques, just a hassle. Safer sure but i'm generally safe anyways. :o

I don't have a debit card.

ATMs, i have a Link card, the money will come out in £ and will need converting or do they convert it automatically and i just € out of the machine?

just use your cash card, that way spend what you need - itll auto convert the amount from Euro to £ on your statement. (it will come out in Euro's though) i.e you want Choose 50Euros, your bank will charge you what about £30 is it roughly? and done

:)

I would take 150euros in currency and the rest in travellers cheques.

I usually split both of them - half check in luggage and half hand luggage just in case either gets lost.

I don't like taking too much money out or using credit cards etc

Have a good time and stay away from Bar M - or whatever its called.

I'll ask the obvious, why should i stay away from Bar M... :o

Hmm, okay, i'll look into it then and see how much money i have when i get paid on the 16th.

\o/

We had a bit of trouble with one of the charver PRs there, absolute idiots.

Just because I told them all to **** *** when they all ganged round our taxi (before we had even got out of it!) trying to get us to go to their bars.

Ridiculous... have a good time.

Omg. =|

Okay thanks for the warning. I've decided i may take a small amount in traveller's cheques but i'll stick to cash, easier i believe and there won't be any problems in trying to find a pen to sign these cheques. :o

Budget to take with me has grown a shade thanks to a lot of overtime, €400.

If you do use plastic overseas, check out the charges and loading from your bank / card provider before you go. Some of the them are a bit steep.

Aye, its pointless taking out €20/30 each time.

Just take £50 travellers cheques, cash them in before you go out and your sorted for 2/3 days.

I am looking at getting the Travellers cheque card, anybody on here had it.
