I will be going to 3 or more different countries in January, China, UAE (Dubai) and maybe Russia (Moscow). I'm wondering will EA throw their ban hammer at me? I'm sure steam wont since they have steam guard on my system so they wont think I have been hacked but purchasing games in multiple countries could get me in trouble?

Any ideas guys?

Seeing as how EA have been giving out Origin permabans for EA Forum infringements I would avoid using/buying games whilst away. As you said, with Steamguard you may be ok playing on Steam but I would probably avoid buying. Could set up a temporary account when out there and gift stuff to yourself, problem solved, but I don't think thats allowed either...not that they will find out.

Seeing as the countries you are visiting include China and Russia I would probably just put Steam in offline mode for the duration.

Contact steam support and ask?
Not too sure to be honest.

Do this to both Origin & Steam to find out.

Then ask again as I suspect, especially with Origin/EA customer service they will say it's fine when it isn't & vice-versa.

Then keep a copy of any conversation you have as well for proof!
