I have enough money on a popular MP3 website for a few albums (8 I suppose). Any suggestions? My taste in music recently;

Joe Satriani
Gorillaz
Gnarles Barklay
Amon Tobin
Feeder
Incubus
Saw ONE soundtrack (2 and 3 aren't so good)

I'm open to new genres - good music isn't restricted by what people call it ;) But I like insturmental goings on more than vocal goings on. Apart from that Mika song, I thought that was pretty good... anyway, please suggest some ear food for me!

Some pretty cool music's been suggested :D

Then again there's some I haven't liked much too ;)

Here's what I have liked so far:

Thievery Corporation - Versions
Thievery Corporation - The Mirror Consipiracy
My Morning Jacket - Z
Bonobo - Days To Come
Paul Gilbert - Raw Blues Power
Steve Vai - Alien Love Secrets

When it comes to guitar, I think I really do prefer the more commercial sound like you say. From previewing a bunch of Vai albumes, that one^ has to be my favorite (and probably the only one I thought 'hey this is really good', the others were more like 'hey this is really good guitar' but as songs I didn't appreciate them much). My Morning Jacket, kinda like Cooper Temple Clause / Placebo mixed together I thought :p Songs were a bit samey though..?

Buckethead was good too, definately preferred Electric Rain and Giant Robot. But elec. rain was just a little too empty the whole way through, not enough going on in the tracks... I like the occasional chilled out "simple" song, but I think a whole album of them puts me off a bit. Giant Robots was good but not what I'm into right now, so will stay in my bookmarks until I fancy something a bit more heavy and 'fun' :)

Am listening to "Team Sleep" previews now - it seems pretty good.

Any more suggestions welcome!! I'm on a right mission to find my new favorite artist now :p
