Trekking bike advice

Im thinking of buying either a viking urban trail 24 speed or Fuji Bikes Nevada 7.0R.

I intend to use it about 50/50 between the road and bike trails, like for example the manifold valley -- nothing too crazy

Does anyone know anything about either of these models ? They are at the extreme end of my budget but im hoping to buy a bike soon as i want to get started, getting out and about while we still have some possibility of nice weather.

You know that Fuji is a single speed? No gears.

The Fuji Bikes Nevada 7.0R has a seven speed Nexus internal gear hub. On the plus side it should be low maintenance, on the negative side it's a heavy hub and it moves a lot of the weight to the rear of the bike, which isn't great if you're planning to add a rack and panniers.
