So I'm going on an organised trip hiking over a week in columbia.
But I've never hiked in tropical climates like this.
I'm very used to ice, snow etc, and obviously our climate. But not jungle.
There is a kit list, but I'm also interested in tips and hints. I'm guessing cotton is bad due to sweat and it getting wet. And long thin clothes are needed.
I've read that loose is better than fitted to help prevent bugs biting.
Any tips on material too?
Nights will be cold so I will probably need some merino base layers.
