I've only had my 400D for a week or so, but decided this evening I would go on a drive and try to find something to shoot. Headed out around 3:30pm, unfortunately missed any nice sunsets, but I drove on hoping to find something else. The annoying thing was, wherever there was a decent shot, there was nowhere to pull over, and wherever there was somewhere to pull over, there was nothing to shoot
Anyway, after about 30min of driving I found a very dark lane which looked interesting. I found a farm entrance and so parked up and got out my gear. There were only a few remnants of light left in the sky, so I tried the best I could to get some nice shots.
With the last one, it was pitch black before the car arrived. This being the case, I was not sure how to focus correctly as could see nothing whatsoever through the viewfinder!
After taking these I was completely frozen so went back to the car to warm up. Drove another mile down the same road then spotted a footpath sign. I stopped to check it out, and before I knew it I was stumbling down a muddy footpath in pitch darkness lugging a camera and tripod, not knowing where I was going. Nevertheless, it paid off. After a few minutes I arrived at an opening; this led to a footbridge over the M25...
I took as many shots as I could before my battery died and my hands froze. This is my first attempt at these type of shots so please criticise as you see fit. Also, these photos are not processed in any way...is there anything I could do to them to improve their composition/effect?
