Lazy b******s, enemy German soldier runs past 4 Russian ally soldiers to shoot at my character...how lazy at programming can you get? The AI doesnt even think for a second that the other Russian soldiers exist and is clearly only programmed to attack the player.

They may aswell not put in your "squad" and their scripted kills [/rant]

I dont mind difficult games, but lazy AI?? Unnaceptable. This is why you'll never be as good as Infinity Ward

They arnt exactly great at most other parts of cod5. Auto grenades at feet? Not realistic or fun. Infinite respawns? same.

Auto grenades at feet, have you played COD 2 and 4? Especially 4.

Realistic? None of these games are realistic.

Infinite respawns, almost doesn't happen in COD5, one area the guns on the reistag. Happens in just about every single section and level in COD4. Happens all over COD2 as well.

Its just fashionable to bash treyarch.

wow, it just got worse, a jap banzai/bayonet guy just ran through one of my squad members to stab me, literally ran through him, he didnt care that there were 5 other NPCs closer to him than I was

Difference being i didnt notice problems in COD2 and 4 and more importantly, it didnt annoy me

I must admit that whilst there may be an element of this in a lot of FPS games, it does really stand out in COD5.

For single player i enjoyed the cod5 more than cod4. Probably due to having a bayonet and bolt action rifles which tickle my fancy. But the respawns in cod4 killed me so much i never even bothered to beat the single player.

So far all your complaints for CoD5, happen in every other CoD game out there. Nothing to do with Treyarch who actually do make a good game, just not to the high standard of IW. AI from both companies suck.

If you're playing the games on Vet mode you and only you will be the focus of the entire enemy. Magical grenades will land by the dozen at your feet, dogs will rape you, enemies will spawn behind you, tanks and mobile artillery will target only you. War is painful man.

i love the comments about realism!!

how many of you have actually been on the front line during a war hence might be able to comment on this? or is saving private ryan as "real" as it gets

I'm sure not many have, but then I feel it's not difficult to assume the Call of Duty games are far from realistic.

That is unless of course soldiers can indeed get hit multiple times and recover in a few seconds by cowering behind cover.

What a ridiculous comment.

TBH this is the way call of duty has always worked. The experience really does put you at the centre of the universe, with everything being bottle necked towards the front of your head. This approach has its pros and cons but ultimately creates the call of duty experience.

It was me who said that, i never said they were realistic i was saying that they are not at all esp in sp.

The thing is with games like this, to make it feel like your part of a big battle you need to have lots of freindly and enemy soldiers running around, the trouble is if your freindlies are to effective youll be complaining about never having enough enemies to shoot at(because your AI buddies have killed them all) and if the enemies prioritized your allies you would rarely take any hits(making the game even easier). Trying to strike that balance is a tricky thing in a game. On top of that, the more complex the AI the bigger hit on performance too.

I remember on COD 2, the mission where you hold off a german attack. Your a soviet soldier and you and your comrades are holding up in a building repelling wave after wave, the gerries come in troop carries. I would base my self on the second floor but the enemy soldiers would run through the building, up the stairs, through another room then into mine and just shoot me.

Got me so annoyed.

Exactly the friendly AI would just as easily let the germans past you as in COD5 but because Infinity Ward made that game it's the bestest game evar.

I even posted a youtube video where an enemy spawned directly behind me in cod 2 and killed me. He magically appears.

I dont remember this kind of thing happening in COD1 or 2, i remember there were a lot of sections where i was quite free to pick off enemies from a good position while they were busy shooting my squad members

I wasn't referring to the realism of the game, it was directed towards the comment that if you haven';t been on the front line in a war, you can't comment on the realism of the game.....

I fell off the Silo twice, I mean where was the AI to help me out with a big expanded tablecloth far below?!
