Tri-Channel into Dual-Channel?

Title says it all tbh.
Theres a possiblity my mempry might be going out, but as im goin to be upgrading at christamass i dont wanna sped cash on DDR3 Dual memory, then have to sell up.

Is it possible to use tri-channel memory and use them?

Yes you can use tri-channel memory in dual channel mode, just have to use 2 sticks instead of the 3.
