Tri DDR3 kits and Dual Channel boards...

There seems to be lots of Tri-Channel 1600+ DDR3 kits on here, but only Dual Channel boards (4 DDR3 slots)

Am I missing something here?

Surely using a 3 DDR kit on a 4 DDR slot board will disable the Dual Channel boost.

So what about socket 1155 for SB, all I find on those is 4 slot boards?

That's a dual channel platform - so you'll need a set similar to this.

Could you just use 2 sticks of the tri kit for 1155 SB boards?

All DDR3 is the same sticks dual/tri channel?

Yes and yes - respectively.

You could if you wanted to.

If you break up a tri-set the two sticks that you use will essentially be matched pairs - same as a dual kit.
