Hi i have 2 6950's in crossfire, i have moved the top card to the bottom slot to make sure it dont make a big performance loss running ar 8x & 4x as when i get a 3rd card it will be 8x8x4x.. ok so i put the top card in the bottom slot to try crossfire this way but for some reason the card doesnt show up as in no crossfire option, any ideas? My mother board is a Asus z68 pro. Thanks.

Hi there,

Unless I'm mistaken, that board doesn't support tri-fire, just standard dual card crossfire and quad crossfire (two dual GPU cards).

As a result, the bottom slot (x4 speed) doesn't share the x16 PCIE lanes direct from the CPU (which the middle slot does) - so it makes sense that this black slot won't work in crossfire.

hAVE NOW.. WELL ITS IN THE POST.. I HAVE THE ASUS BOARD IN MY PC BUT ALSO HAVE A ASROCK Z68 THAT I WAS GOING TO SEND BACK.. TA
