Crossfire a 290x with a 295x2?

Well, Lets start with the issues I have.

Upon installing the new GPU, Loading into windows now takes around 5 mintues, Windows OS is on my samsung SSD and should take around 5 seconds... Whats happen with it loading? The strange part is as soon as windows has logged and I log in. Fastest pc ever... So whats the deal?

Second issue, I can switch to crossfire and all 3 chips show up in AMD as primary, linked and linked adapter meaning there all there however trying to start a game will cause my PC to crash/turn the new gpus fan full speed?

Any help is great, cheers.:(

Well I seem to have fixed the slow boot, However playing any game that uses all 3 cards = bluescreen. GPU-Z Displays no information on 3rd card but states that 3GPUS are running in crossfire...

Trying to disable crossfire also results in bluescreen so am no longer able to play any game that uses crossfire... Sigh...

You sir are made of magic, All 3 cards running on BF4. However the fan one was upto 91c. Lul the fan profile was derped but I quickly fixed that before I had a nice BBQ.

Hm, But running the 295x2 on its own in Shadow of mordor gave me around avg of 150 fps. Running all 3 cards gives me a avg of 120fps ... wut

Try a different game or bench.
Xfire/sli is borked enough with just two cards in this one, not to mention the bench itself ain't exactly the most reliable out there.

Wait for an official profile or try the Crysis 3 xfire profile and see what happens.

Thanks for your help, Well happy that it was just a driver issue and more happy that the 295x2 and a 290x can crossfire so easily <3

No, but it helps if you want to monitor stuff in AB etc. The cards will still work, of course.

Enabling or disabling a card or two results in AB not showing temps etc for one thing if you don't restart.

ED: Then again, all you have to do is restart AB. Problem solved, sweet :D

I cba to google on your behalf, but I'd suggest that you double check with Aquacomputer to make sure that their 290 blocks line up with their 295x2 block before you buy stuff :)

I think I checked and I don't think it does from a visual inspection.
I know EKs don't as it says so, but not 100% sure about the others.

No ones really ever tried so google turns up jack, I'll try aqua but I doubt it will be any use. If theres no way of making them line up well I guess I'll be getting rid of it cause the sound it makes is awful.
