For early testing, high-level Global Agenda players will have priority since most understand some of the mechanics we are looking to test, and many have a range of experience with many games, not just GA (including Tribes, Planetside, etc). In addition, most high-level GA players have a good relationship with and understanding of the studio, which will help us during early testing especially, when many aspects of the game will be rougher and less polished. That said, we also plan to bring in long-time Tribes, Planetside, and other FPS players to round out the group and ensure a range of perspectives that fit our target audience.

I love Tribes. I love Planetside. A decent MMOFPS is what I really want but they said Global Agenda was going to be good..... Signed up as I feel they owe me after I wasted my money on that crap.

Please Please don't be rubbish.
 
I'm actually excited about an upcoming PC game again. What an odd feeling :p

I wonder if the use of the original starsiege logo means we'll see hercs or whatever they were called? Not sure I want that...
 
Interview on massively, they 'say' that their using tribes 2 as the base of reference.

Good start if thats true, just hope all the generic mmo stuff they add doesn't ruin the dream:)
 
Ahh happy memories of the first tribes game, used to love the skiing mechanic and just going mentally quick everywhere :D Never got into Tribes 2 as much, I guess that was the influence of playing faster paced deathmatch games like HLDM/CS.

If the new one is any cop then it may be the first fps I've played on the PC since I quite CS all those years ago!
 
With so much effort and mention of GA, I have this horrible feeling they are going to turn GA into tribes as if it was a total conversion mod.
But I loved tribes, it weeded out the good from the bad pretty quick and didn't appeal to everyone (its downfall) because a lot of people can barely handle X/Y axis.
Throw in skiing, jetpacks for vertical movement and weapons which have travel time and not instantly hit it's target.

Hmm now that you mention it I can see it as well, if slightly different from the one used in Tribes 1. Although I still think the Tribes 2 font/logo is better, I'm glad to see the separate Starsiege logo has made a comeback mind. :)

Haha glad to see I'm not the only one that saw the logo and though ooooh...Star (Earth)siege. Would be nice to see some more of those classic style mech games come out now technology can do them so much more justice. Some nice OTT mech action wouldn't be amiss, with all the frickin' customisation I can be bothered with :D

Either way, nice to see Tribes brought back, and if the mecha make a return as well, even better.
 
Hopefully the bellow pace still exists; skip to 45s really.

The team video after is awesome as well, some of those high speed mid air flag switches are insane.
