Hi All,

I run a Fedora core 8 home server for torrenting, teamspeak, media server etc. and have been so impressed with fedora recently I decided it was time to TriBoot my main desktop with XP Pro, Vista 64 and Fedora 8 so I can play with fedora on my main machine.

For simplicity I decided to start from scratch so I wiped the two installed 160 Gb Drives and installed Xp Pro on first drive in a 60Gb Partition, followed By Vista on same drive in a second 60Gb Partition and created a full 160Gb partition on the second drive that I called Data.

This left approximately 30-40Gb of free/ unpartitioned space on drive 1.

So I've booted from the Fedora 8 64bit DVD gone through the process and chosen the 'use free space' option in the partioning tool. Install is in process.

My only worry is that on checking the proposed parition and disk layout it looked really confusing. It almost seems to be suggesting that the Vista and Xp partitions are logical volumes? I also can't tell for certain if the Fedora partitions are only using the left over 30Gb or whther its taking some of the sapce already setup by vista and XP. Is this something to do with the way Vista sets up the dual boot with XP?

Any thoughts on this?

Best,

Okay,

Fedora install completed, spat out the disk and asked to reboot. On reboot no sign of the GRUB boot loader only the vista boot loader. I let fedora chose the default location that it suggested fo installing grubbut no sign of it?

Any one got any suggestiond?

At the command line, type :

Code:
fdisk -l > partitions.txt

then paste here. That command lists all partitions on all hard disks in your PC and redirects the output to a file called partitions.txt

or

Take a screenshot of Fedora's GUI Partition tool, showing all the partitions.
