So i've got the bike covered up for the winter and was looking online for trickle chargers to keep the bike ticking over for the winter but there is such a vast range of chargers available and prices and was wondering what the ocuk folk have.

Is it worth spending £60 for a charger such as this:

or could i get away with having one like this for a little over £20 which does exactly the same job?

I just purchased an Oxford Maximiser 3800 off the 'bay for £45 including delivery.

Definitely go for the better charger if you can afford it.

I've had an Optimate since 2001. It's still working and I've never had to replace a battery since I started using it.

I have a Datatool Battery Conditioner. Works on exactly the same principle as the Optimate. Can sometimes be had for less cash outlay if you hunt around, simply because lots of folk generically associate battery conditioners with the name "Optimate". :)

I have the charger in the first link and it's excellent. Been doing the job for about 2 years, bought it for cheaper than that though.
