Hi Guys,

I'm looking for an Estate Car, I need a good runner, doesn't matter about petrol or diesel. Just needs to be able to carry a load of stuff and must be a car (no vans etc).

Here comes the tricky part, needs to be around £750, could probably push slightly, but the lower the better.

Thanks!

Whatever you can find that's Japanese and not too rusty, or possibly an old Mondeo/ovlov estate.

Something like a primera estate would be ideal, if you can find a non rusty one

I give you these fine examples (will edit and update):

Generally speaking the newer you get the more likely you are to have issues, old ones are bomb proof - though i'm only really aware of problems on the S/V40 from the late nineties/ early 00's models.

Think you need to be realistic with what's important in a £700ish car tbh

That said, I've linked you a random 1.6 primera and low powered 406

Its another smallish car - thought you needed loads of room?

They aren't very good to be honest, poorly built and prone to niggling electrical faults, though the diesels seemed to suffer much more than the petrols. I wouldn't expect any issues with the 1.6 unit itself

Yeah I need space, but am willing to compromise in terms of insurance and engine size.

As always, this isn't necessarily the case, best to try them out on a comparison site to check. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those barges come out quite cheap.
This. You may be surprised if you actually run the quotes!

The V40 and BMWs are tiny. What about a Mondeo? They're rather large.
Saab 9-5 could we worth a look as well.

Hi try looking at the Avensis estate too, the petrols are again pretty bomb proof.
