as the title said, tried to insatll alcohol 120% did flash up with some warning ( wich i ignored) rebooted and now after the bios just as it loads it comes up with just some weird nonsense text. pressing escape makes it carring on loading windows. anything else casues reboot.

tried goign to earlier system resore point and nothing, its obvious changed some setting,

anyone got any ideas or a tool to remove all trace of ever insatlling this program

alcohol still does not work at all in vista, the last time i tried to install it, it fooked up the kernel and i had to reinstall
in future, use clone cd, it works fine in rc2

currently no 3rd party burning or a/v software works in vista.

ehh, totally wrong.

AVG Free & Pro editions work fine on Vista RC1 and RC2
Daemon Tools 4.x latest edition works fine on RC1 and RC2
Nero 7.2.7.0 Lite works perfectly fine also.

shame i didnt know all this before ballsing up my install of vista eh :D

err, does vista have a reepair install like XP, think I could handle doing that but the thought of another clean install so soon is a kick in the nuts.

any other way to fix this damn kernal ?

didnt work
didnt work
didnt work

so from my experiance, no.

Nero 6.6 works fine here (the actual Burning Rom, other side-programs I've not tried - 7's never worked. Haven't tried that Lite version, as 6 does everything I require of it.

Only one i can not get to work is nero , But use Roxio 9 insted wich also works

alcohol installed for me on the one inbetween rc1 and rc2 but it would not create virtual drives. on rc2 it blue screened me

as for a restore, boot from youre vista cd and use the recovery console
