Trine - a physics-oriented, side-scrolling action/platformer

looks awesome.. I miss platformers, and this is quite a step up from Abe's Oddysee - the last PC platformer I played :P

A bit of a resurrection of an old thread but the demo has been released http://www.atomicgamer.com/file.php?id=79215#. Probably worth a topic of it's own but someone more creative can do that ;)

Anyway, the demo was absolutely great. Paying almost full price (seems to be one tier below full game prices at least in Finland, 35-40€ as opposed to 45-50€) for a platform game is maybe a bit too much but I'm first in line when it hits the bargain bin.

I'd advise making a new thread, as Neil79 has quit this forum via the means of toys and a pram. Probably some kind of throwing out of involved there somewhere too...

As from tonight i will no longer be posting on ocuk !. There will be NO more game news... No more retro/indy remakes... No more mods and mod news... Been a member for some years now but i feel its time to leave , i cannot be ruled by a dictatorship with one sided views!

For those here that have always given good feedback and friendly , thanks . I'll always be on rage3d and i'll always be updating there , so if for any reason you want to contact me do so there.

Thanks and bye all , p.s i have edited all my old posts of interest :(

That is what happened.

Been waiting for this one and I'm not disappointed.

Given that I actually liked the Shadowgrounds games and only paid a couple of quid for them in a Steam sale, this will be a day one purchase for me just to support the devs, never mind that I love the demo :)

I just finished the demo and it was indeed great. As for paying full price, i dunno. The story sections are a bit old, but the in-game sections are really polished. It plays really well and you get a real tactile feeling that you are controlling something with weight to it. I might buy :D

It thought the story bits were really well done, and the voiceovers (especially the narrator) were spot on. Someone was saying the German voiceovers are excellent as well, so it seems they've gone all out on localisation.

Yeah, I know what you mean about it being a full price game, but I didn't just like that demo, I genuinely enjoyed it; something which is getting rarer for me these days.

Preordered on Steam @ £19.99.

You get a copy of Shadowgrounds as well, which unusually for a non-Valve game, you can actually gift to someone else if you already own it.

Well as said, the story sections wouldnt put me off buying it or not. As, I enjoyed the gameplay a lot. It was more that the story parts were more like games of old. Static backgrounds + v/o instead of the usual 3d extravaganza. If anything this style of narrative here suits the style of story more.

I am still undecided on whether ill buy it or not. The demo was good ... hmmm :p

edit: whats shadowgrounds like? Is it more of the same, or a different style of game?

Trine has completely blown me away. My expecatations have been high since the first footage, but the demo has exceeded them considerably.

Gooooo on, you know you want to ;)

Totally different. I always thought it was what Alien Breed would have been like if the Amiga had been up to doing 3d. It's definitely retro, and isn't anywhere near as polished as Trine, but I finished it, and quite frankly, enjoyed it. There's a demo on Steam.

Same here.. I just played the demo, and I'm in love :)

I haven't pre-ordered though, as I don't want to buy from metaboli. Hopefully the game will be released on either Impulse or Steam.

The demo idn't support my laptop's native resolution (1366x720) - hopefully this res will be added in the official release :)

*edit*

Ah, it's on Steam :D

Bought!

For those who don't like using Steam for whatever reason, a certain well known high-street retailer has it available for pre-order on their website for £17.99 inc delivery.
