Hi all,

I am hearing the desktop trinitys that are on the new FM2 platform are being delayed until quarter 3, likely September/October.

Not massive news with a lot of people more interested in Intel for the superior cpu power.

However I am in the process of building a HTPC and was intending to use the new fm2, now I have to decide to wait or not, frustrating!

I do not really see the point in getting a Intel set up when Haswell released next year will require a new motherboard!

Cheers,

Davey

Last time I heard was August.
An AMD CPU delay is standard these days, September/October time is nothing.
Wonder when PileDriver will come out, AMD really dragging their heals.

Slightly annoyed by the whole FM"2" part of things, especially as any CPU (sorry APU) upgrade for me would mean me ditching my FM1 board. :(

As for the delay... The Llano's are very good at what they do and AMD really need to pull their fingers out and capitalize on this.

AMD are pretty much a laptop and HTPC company now, as I see it. Who hasn't gone over to Intel who needs a decent desktop CPU? Apart from stubborn people :p

Those people who want to build a cheap PC that they can overclock. Intel seriously needs to unlock one of it's i3's.

Good luck to Trinity though, if it had just a little more gpu ooomph though.

I think Intel are intentionally not releasing an unlocked i3 as that really would damage AMD.

Can you imagine if Intel unlocked the whole range? Holy christ AMD wouldn't have a foot to stand on.
35 quid pentium dual cores running massive clock speeds.

Yes, Intel are holding back on certain products because they have a heart of gold and want to be nice to AMD. ;)

You really need to stop thinking that.... I wouldn't post it on the internet either.
