As a voluntary youth worker, I'm involved in organising a trip for a group of teenagers to go to Paris, to look around and to go to Disneyland. The probable aim for this is around one week.
The group have been doing things to raise some money for it, such as sponsorships, car washes, supermarket bag packing, etc. It's going well so far but I think the group needs more 'serious' funding, i.e. some money from companies, organisations and so on.
I know people with some experience in this sort of thing, and I'll work with them on it, but I wonder if anyone here might know how/where/who/etc for some funding? Or general tips?
Furthermore, transport is a bit of a problem, and so is accomodation. We want to make full use of the time we have, so travelling there via a hired minibus will probably take up a lot of time (the group is from the North-East). Basically, we're looking for companies that may offer cheap transport and/or special deals for groups such as us. Same goes for accomodation...being the city boy I am, I don't fancy sleeping in tents
Oh, and we're doing this for a group of deaf children - some of them are from 'disadvantaged backgrounds' - not really directly relevant, but it may help us get some money from organisations who want to be 'charitable'
Any ideas?
