Hi guys,
I am looking to spec up a new i7 build (4.0ghz oc) and am currently looking at ram.
I am looking at 6gb of either cosair http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-205-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1389 or ocz ram http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-200-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1389 running at either 1600 or 2000mhz.
Would I notice the difference between the 1600 and 2000 MHz and equally would I notice the improvement of the ocz over the corsair?

There is practically no performance difference between 1600MHz and 2000MHz on the X58 platform due to the massive bandwidth provided by triple channel mode. Therefore, I would strongly suggest getting the best value 1600MHz kit you can find - today it seems to be the Corsair.

The OCZ you link to has the same frequency (1600MHz) but slightly tighter timings and better cooling. However, the real-world performance difference will be negligible for a cost of £32.50.

i run my 1600mhz ram at 1066mhz instead for better timing, because i notice no difference at all in real world running them at 1600mhz

not tested under benchmark, just speaking from a general feel from system
