triple channel in dual

Yes, this works fine. Just refer to your motherboard manual so you use the correct slots to enable dual channel mode.

I've always wondered this. For dual channel... is it dual channel RAM, or is it the motherboard that decides what channel it's running? (if that makes sense :rolleyes:

It's all down to the mobo/CPU. 'dual channel' or 'triple channel' is just a description of how many memory modules the CPU can access simultaneously. The modules themselves don't differ in any way (other than how many are in the box if you by a kit).
