hi all im hoping for an upgrade on friday, i intend to get a 3930, with a gigabyte ud3 m/b, samsung 30nm memory 16gb, and a corsair cooler,

ok the question is will my current ddr3 ( triple channel ) be ok in an x79 for a few weeks so i can afford to get a better board, or should i stick as i am and get the samsung now with a ud3

All this dual/triple/quad channel memory 'kits' is just a load of marketing shenanigans.

All you will need to do is buy an extra stick of RAM and put it into the new system with your other sticks.

yeah i understand that, but i wanted the better samsung ram 1600mhz, but i am trying to figure out wether to not buy ram now and spend the money on a better m/b, then get better ram in a week or 2, or wether the gigabyte ud3 or the msi gd65 would be good enough m/b's, i am working on a budget and need to buy before saturday to get my 10% discount.

What he said, however if that mobo doesn't support Triple channel then your 3 sticks will run in Single mode.
