Triple channel ram slots query

i could buy 2x4gb or 3x2gb

i got triple channel mobo, which would be the best thing to do?

I'd prefer more memory over slightly faster memory.

Given current pricing I'd stretch to 3 x 4GB and get the best of both worlds.

If that isn't an option 2 x 4GB is a better bet in the longer term for either reuse or resale.
