I've been wanting to add some more ram, currently using 6GB Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz and I can't seem to find them anywhere apart from a competitor and they do a 12GB set (4x3)

Am I right in thinking this shouldn't be an issue with that working with my current set up? And what happened to Tri-channel ram? I haven't exactly been up to date with hardware lately, and ocuk only do Dual/Quad

Woo, Same RAM :D
Yeah triple channel was quickly taken over by quad channel and it just fell off the map really.
if it's triple channel it should be fine, double check the speed rating on your MoBo

haha :D That's rather annoying, is quad here to stay then?

Cool, the maximum I can use is 24GB so i'm fine.

Quad seems strong and from the look of haswell-E and broadwell it'll stick around for a bit.
I was gonna upgrade RAM too but lack of availability I couldn't bring myself to buy a whole new set of 4Gb sticks when I could put the money towards a whole new system :P

single channel(one stick)dual channel(two sticks)triple channel(three sticks)quad channel(four sticks)

that's all it is,the number of sticks used, they have to be matching timings/voltage though

Have an upgrade itch, and I don't see a point in upgrading my 920. Starting with the memory, then SSD and GPU hopefully.

The 12GB set is going for £114 which isn't so bad, has the matching timings and voltage so i'll probably stick with that.

Always been an AMD man myself, tempted to go for a 290 from a 6950 though by the time I save up there would have been 500 new things.

Keeping the old ram, 20GB of ram should do me fine :p

Haha nice.
I'm looking at the 290 too, almost pulled the trigger on it but waiting to see about the GDC, I can't afford the card and WC in one burst anyway, keeping the saving going
