Hey, at the moment I have dual monitors and want to add another. I currently have GeForce GTX 260 and Asus P5Q-E connected to two monitors. the gtx is connected via the blue pci slot
My question is, what card do I need to buy to add another? What PCI slots e.g x?
Can i buy another cheap x16 card?
thanks

For two GFX cards, only one can display at a time.

To get two, you'd need two identical cards. Alternatively, i know you can get a VGA to VGA + DVI splitter, which will turn a VGA signal into a VGA + DVI, so you can run two monitors from one GFX card port (as i am doing atm). You can get a VGA to DVI as well, so although it's a lot of converter things, it gets the job done :)

This is actually not true, multiple graphics can output displays from all their outputs. You don't need 2 identical cards either. There is absolutely no need to use loads of converters. You can just get a cheap second graphics card, throw it in, and use it to run a third (and even fourth) monitor.

Now, if you wanted to play games across all 3 screens, you'd need a second GTX260 and use it for SLi Mosaic (nVidia's equivalent of Eyefinity).

So, that 8400GS will work exactly how you want it to.
