Hey all

I need some tripod advice. I have around £100 budget for a tripod which will need to support a 5Dmkiii and a max weight lens of a 70-300L (2.2 kg total).

So far I've been looking at the limited run Giottos MT 8223-50 which is constructed of carbon fibre and seems to be pretty decent. I can't find anywhere local though to have a look at one in the flesh. It's low weight is very appealing.

I've also been looking at Redsnapper tripods, but there's so much choice with different combinations of legs and heads that I don't really know where to start. I've read that the RS 234 are the better of the legs?.. Or was it the RS233 :o

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Me, Clown and MRK all have the same carbon fibre tripod from eBay, and we have 5D MKIII's, great piece of kit, if you PM me i will send you the link.

£106.99 delivered, and mine came in 7 days.

£100 for the tripod alone or with the head too?

Looking at around £100 for both tripod and head.

Its only got a load capacity of 3KG which will be ok as long as you don't want a bigger lens in future. I have the aluminium MTL9251B which has a load capcity of 5Kg and a better max height of 161cm, but is £85 for the tripod without the head.
