Do they exist and are they worth having if they do?

I've got a Manfrotto 190XPROB & 804RC2 tripod and head kit and would like to have something handier to carry it around in other than my, erm, hand :)

They exist and they're worth having but only in certain situations.

Excellent for getting from A to B and keeping your investment safe and secure (especially when travelling by plane, train, etc) but a right pain in the backside once you get there.

Once you've whipped your tripod out of the bag and have set it up, you've then got this massive bag to lug around with you unless you get one that folds up (which renders the bag pretty pointless in my opinion) or you keep folding your tripod up and stowing it away again.

Much better to get a good, sturdy tripod strap and carry it around like that. I know Manfrotto do a dedicated one but I think Optech make a nice padded strap too.

I have got a Manfrotto tripod carry case, it has a shoulder strap. It was free with the tripod/head as a bundle deal. It serves its purpose but a strap would be just as effective and a lot cheaper (I think the bags individual price is about £30).
