I am looking to get a fairly light tripod and ball head for around £100. I have been looking at the Manfrotto set bellow, but I know a lot of you rate Redsnapper so I had a look a few of those.

The kit will be for occasional use, while the Manfrotto seems to be a bit lighter the redsnapper seems to be good value.

So before I choose I thought I would ask if anyone had any opinions on the two sets below, or any others for that matter.

Manfrotto - 293A4 Aluminium Tripod and A0RC2 Ball Head Kit £100

Redsnapper - RS-283 & RHS-12 Ball Head - £109

Thanks,

if it's only for occasional use then I'd say get the redsnapper although I think the 284 is better as it can go lower to the ground than the 283 and is a fair bit more compact for storing.

As for the head a £20 ks-0 ball head off of ebay will probably do you fine, mine handles my 3Kg tamron 200-500mm lens just fine.

ps. if you sign up to the tp forums you can get 10% off redsnapper http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=258696
