Very interested in the new Acer 27in IPS gsync when its finally released , but i also would like 3 of them in surround when playing project cars and FPS games and for 16.9 games just use the middle monitor .

will my 980ti sc Sli watercooled be good enough to handle 3 of these .
in surround mode .

Looking at getting around the sweet spot of 60fps on max settings .

or will i have to chenge the res to something like 3440x1440 ? instead of the native 7680x1440p . or will it look washed out at 3440x1440p ?

i always thought it was the vertical 1440p,1600,2160 that pushed the graphics cards .

i dont want to waste nearly 2k on an extra 2 monitors just to get 30-50fps .

I will just get an X34 if its not going to be worth the extra cost .

Tbh you'd be much better off trying one of the VA ultrawides first if racing games are a big thing for you. Resolution won't be anywhere close to what you're proposing, but you'll get immensely higher frame rates and have no borders with quite some curve. I suspect you'd find it more immersive.

Ive already tried the x34 gsync and loved it but the sheer size coming from a 40in 4K monitor was a bit small ..I loved the immersion of it and thus the reason to go 3x 27in gsync I had to sent the x34 back due to back light bleed .

Might just get it again and then sell the 40in 4K and maybe just get a 27in ips for 16.9 none game content and for a second screen . So I suppose £1400 for 2 different screens against 3 x 27in @ £1950 might be the way forward .

But there's a part of me that's always going to want those 3 screens .

I won't be upgrading the 2x 980ti any time soon ..aa only just built the computer .
