As thread title, I have an i7 930 cpu currently in the p6x58d-e mobo which uses triple channel ddr3 ram. I'm thinking of getting the small factor Prodigy case with a mini atx mobo and 3570k cpu.

Can I use my existing ram in the z77 mini atx mobos? I suspect if I can, I can only use two sticks for a total of 4gb is this correct?

If you get a board which allows you to use all three RAM sticks, two of them will run in dual channel mode while the third will run in single channel.

it does work but it tends to need 1.65v dram as apposed to 1.5-1.55v for the dual channel kits

itll work 2 sticks-dual channel but 8gb would be better

Ok thanks for the replies, really its a question of saving some money in the short term. I'd do an upgrade to 16gb (2x8GB) in the future when such modules were on offer.
