Hey all,

Looking to get a third screen, would I be able to run two off my single 580 and then one from the CPU (2600K)?

Cheers

For gaming use stulid is quite right but i don't see any reason why it shouldn't work just for windows use.

Sorry, forgot to mention. It wont be for gaming, when I game I use my centre monitor, its mainly for when I am doing work, two screens is nice, but three would make it so much easier :)

So I was hoping to run my main and off monitor on my 580 and then a third of the 2600K on Intel HD Graphics.

I do believe it is possible using Virtu.

Which you should have on your Z68 chipset. You will have to enable iGPU in your BIOS though.

I think that's exactly what he doesn't want to be doing.

Using Virtu the output from the graphics card is fed through the output for the integrated GPU so you don't connect anything to the graphics card.

It should work if the integrated GPU is used entirely separately from the graphics card and the motherboard allows both to be used at the same time.

Don't need to use Virtu. Your 2600K can support up to two screens, so in extended mode it will work fine with the 580. So theoretically you can have to four screens. Looking at your board it only has a single HDMI port but it meets your needs so it's fine.

What EVOSS can do is add a cheap as chips Nvidia card (not in SLI) and gain another output from that?

How about 2 x Nvidia Quadro NVS 295 picked up for around £40 the pair! They are perfect for productivity work, providing your screens are same resolution screens can be linked together into one large screen.

They support this

Performance on these is very similar GeForce 8400 (so 1080p no issue). They can be picked up cheap however, there are new card on the bay for around £20 each!

I can't link but search the bay for 'NVS 295', plenty of cards as they come with Dell Workstations and people upgrade the cards afterwards.

EDIT: Just read you still game on centre monitor, so above is likely pointless..
