TRK commands to remove permissions from photos

I have numerous JPEG pictures that have corrupted due to invalid user permissions following an XP re-install.

I wish to use Trinity Rescue Kit to hopefully remove or restore the user permissions.

Can anyone give me an idea of the commands? I have not used Linux before.

I've tried to copy the files to a USB stick but I get 'permission denied'.

Is there another way of removing the permissions?
