Hey everyone, need some help.
I think I have got a trojan on my PC. It came up this afternoon and restarted my PC automatically. Now when I should get the usual Windows boot screen I get "Loading operating system" and nothing happens.

I've tried changing the boot order to CD first and get into the Windows installation CD to recover but it wont. It keeps coming up with the above error.

Any help???????

What makes you think it's a Trojan and not some other fault? Have you tried Safe Mode (tap F8 after post) and disabling startup items. Install, update and run Malwarebytes too, if you get it going.

Good luck and keep us posted :)

Avast displayed a red pop up before it restarted saying trojan found.
I've just updated the BIOS and its now let me into Windows recovery so I'm recovering the drive and we'll see what happens. I'll do a full drive scan with Avast if I can boot into Windows

fastest way is to run a ERD Commander if you have it or can get it or Ultimate Boot CD so you can access the windows system restore and restore to a day or so before you got the Trojan alert..... then you can do a full system scan to make sure it is clean after your back in windows.

What where you/your PC doing just before the Trojan alert came up?

Managed to get into Windows and cleared off the trojan but I kept getting a BSOD with a memory dump and it said about a hardware changed so decided to play it safe and do a clean install of Windows. All seems ok now
