Anyone bought this yet on PC???

Its only available at a few places digitally right now but I only want to buy from either Steam or GFWL as do not trust the other places incase they go out of business sometime etc etc.

Looks different & fun but it would seem no UK PC retail release at all. I know it only uses Unreal Engine 3 & its another console game (aren't they all nowadays!) but something about it looks like it could be fun & several youtube videos showing it in action on PC in HD look ok. Just do not want to buy from these 2 places as its £29.99 which is a lot considering retail games are usually only £20 or less :(

It's a movie tie in, what on earth gives you the impression it would be good?

Just looked at a few gameplay videos on youtube and it looks utterly dire, not only that but it looks like they have tried to rip off every aspect of Prince of Persia gameplay, badly.

Disney have some strange publishing deals which only appear to limit the availability of their products to customers which seems counter productive for a publisher.

I wanted to purchase Split/Second Velocity but did not for the same reasons you have discovered.

Pretty much D2D and Metaboli/Gamesplanet have exclusivity.

Gamesplanet/Metaboli are pants and D2D are owned by News Corp so Rupert Murdoch can **** off.

Its available in the US @ retail DVD-Rom & on US GFWL marketplace which is weird oh well I will save my money then for something else as not prepared to buy digitally unless Steam or GFWL.

This, I played it for about an hour,..all movements are copy from POP

Play Tron 2.0 instead. A true PC game, one of the best movie based games of all time, and with the new Killer App mod it runs properly on modern PCs in widescreen.

Decided to buy it anyway on D2D with a 20% discount if you use the code Rudolph before tomorrow so only cost me £23.96.

Been playing it a bit & its actually ok. As expected the reviews are wrong the game is highly playable & easy to pick up & play. It uses Unreal Engine 3.5 and looks alright. Sure its just another console multiplatform game design like they all are nowadays. The TRON style of gfx actually suits this game very well. Uses GFWL for MP. FPS is very good its not going to struggle to run on any PC from the past 3-4 years maybe much older.

I will maybe post some screenshots later.......

Here are some screenshots. 1920x1200 max everything but reduced by 50% otherwise 7Mb per screenshot vs 1.64MB!

It looks fine to me. I've read a few reviews and it's average is around 7/10 which is much higher than some of the triple A titles of recent years should have been given.

The first Tron game on the PC was superb IMHO. Definitely one I'll be having a look at (trying to find a demo now).

I dont trust reviews. I have always made purchasing decisions based on all the information, videos and if possible gameplay experience(demos). If I listened to every review I wouldn't have half the games I own.

Tron Evolution I really enjoyed and couldn't stop playing it until I finished it. It does indeed borrow a lot of ideas from other games but that's not always a bad thing. Of course if you're not into the franchise you probably wouldn't enjoy it so much(in the same way as a football hater I'd hardly go out and buy the next Fifa game that comes out.)but as a Tron fan I found this movie tie in to be one of the better ones. Just my opinion of course, but then again so is a review. My advice is judge for yourself and if you think it looks ok give it a try.

Truer words were never spoken. Or written. At least on these forums. In the last hour or so.

Gets a good review on The Escapist btw (though it's not a ZP one).
