Edit: Due to the help I've had so far, I'm looking for a 27" 1440p 144hz monitor that preferably is at least GSYNC compatible. If you have a suggestion please let me know.

Hey all, recently upgraded from an MSI R9 390 that started to artifact to an Asus 1660 Super. I have 2 22" 1080p 60hz monitors at the moment. I'm just looking for a higher refresh rate.

I've read that due to pixel density on 1080p if I'm sitting 2 feet away from the monitor, it's suggested that I dont go over 27" monitor size. Is that the general consensus?

So my question is, I'm looking for the best "bang for the buck" 144hz 27" GSYNC compatible monitor. As I said I have a 1660 Super that afaik is GSYNC enabled but some freesync monitors work with it? I'm not 100% clear on the Gsync/Freesync aside from understanding one is AMD and one is Nvidia.

PC specs below in case it matters.

R5 2600X
B450 Tomahawk Max
Riotoro Enigma G2 850W Modular 80+ Gold PSU
HyperX FURY 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200MHz DDR4 RAM
Geforce GTX 1660 Super Dual Evo OC GPU

Thank you! I'm worried to try 1440p with this card as I've just spent the last five years playing games on mid settings to scrape 60fps. I dont wanna go back to that cause I've bought a monitor that really taxes the card if that makes sense? What about 2 1080p 24" monitors with high refresh rates then? I can always get one soon then another later if it's much more expensive.

Thank you all. I think that it might be worth getting a 1440p monitor then I guess. So is there a tidy 27" 1440p 144hz Gsync compatible monitor around for a reasonable price?
