Hi, my friend is trying to get drivers for his new computer which has Vista installed. He has a Sagem F@st 800-840 ADSL modem and I can't find a website which has the vista version of this. He tried a generic driver and he said that didn't work.

Thanks

Time to buy router/switch/modem/gateway all in one. No drivers needed, and is crossplatform. Faster with better security too, and you can use several machines to the net at the same time.

Used Billion 7300A and Speedtouch 780WL and wouldn't go back to ADSL USB modem.

I hate that modem. It's unstable, crashes and overheats. And I hate USB Ethernet technologies. USB was never designed to handle Ethernet capabilities yet manufacturers and designers still wish to use them for ethernet connectivity. :(

Try the Sagem website :)

I went on there and it doesn't mention support for Windows Vista.

Can't Windows Vista use older drivers (i dont have it so I have no idea). Surely it has some kind of support for older drivers?

I know someone who had this problem. He is now back on XP

Give it another year.

Lol, I kept telling my friend he could have saved money if he had used his old Windows XP key and not gone to Vista.

did you not try xp drivers in vista? it's quite possible they would have worked. maybe if there was a setup program, it might not run but if your familiar with updating drivers through device manager by browsing for .inf files it may have been possible? :)

There isn't any Vista drivers for that modem, but have you tried this :)

If hes not on Tosscali, then he doesn't need the CD, as long as hes got the drivers already, so all he has to do is just the right click on the setup file just like it says and follow from there.
