Trouble getting E6750 to 3.6

Hi all,

I've managed to get the following to a stable 3.4G:
E6750
Gigabyte P35-DS4
Crucial Ballistix 8500

That's done using: FBS at +0.1v, MCH at +0.225v and CPU at 1.4v (actual shown in CPU-Z). CPU core temps are about 50C under orthos (Tjunction at 100).

However, I can't seem to get to 3.6 (450x8) without problems. I can boot into Windows ok but everything locks after a minute or so of Orthos. I've tried bumping up the three voltages a bit without success, but can't work out which one to concentrate on.

I've made sure PCI-E is at 100 and RAM is under 1066 all the time.

Concentrate on the CPU voltage. Tho it wouldn't hurt to bump the FSB and MCH voltage to +0.25 for the meantime.

Your temps are grand so bump the CPU voltage a notch or two.

Up the vcore to 1.5v and test stabilty.

Then take it down until its no longer stable.

Tried it all, but I still get lockups - Windows just freezes after a few seconds of Orthos.

Have you disabled everything in BIOS that you don't need?

Raise the PCI Frequency to 105mhz too.

My E6750 needed 1.52v with the P5K Deluxe and 1.54v with the EVGA 680i to be stable at 3.6Ghz. With a Zalman CNPS9700 cooler.

Disable speedstep, C1E, Vanderpool, etc.

Wow, I'm at 1.4 to get to 3.7 stable with p5b deluxe and same cooler. How are your temps?

It was around 70c under Orthos. Maybe just the chip I have likes lots of volts.

iam stuck on 3.56GHz if i go any higher Windows loads then locks up!
i will test if putting RAM to 5-5-5-15 will help!!

I'm on a DS4 myself, and i had no problem, MCH up to +100mV, CPU Volts at 1.45-1.475 and RAM volts up to the preferred amount for your RAM. Then bang up the FSB.

I bumped up PCI-E to 105 and got 3.5 to be stable. Will try 3.6 again tonight with your suggestions.

Just setup an E6750 this morning at 3.6GHz.
CPU voltage - 1.41875v
MCH e.t.c. all +0.1v
Memory at its default.
PCI-E 101MHZ
Intel cooler.

Tentatively, I think this may work:
450 x 8
1.54375, giving 1.488 under load
+0.1 on each of the voltages
PCI-E at 101

20 mins Orthos is stable - will now have a longer go. Core temps at 50-54C.
