As title, will run forever and a day on small FTT cpu at 3ghz (4300 Core2), ram is OCZ 4gb PC6400. When I run blend it hangs after ~3 mins. Memtest 86+ v1.7 also runs forever without crashing, OS is vista 64, why is it doing this? Its the only reason I can think of that also makes 3dmark 2006 hang on demo loop, I want to get the PC to be able to run 3dmark 2006 on demo loop for at least 12 hours

It means your overclock is not stable. Post CPU-Z both memory and CPU along with core temp V .95 screenshots please and we'll be able to help you.

My guess is that you've not unlinked your RAM meaning it's running faster then what it can handle ot not getting enough juice causing the crash.

CPUZ:

Core Speed: 2997mhz
x9
333fsb
1333mhz

core voltage 1.344v (I know its low, but any higher it crashes sooner)

Idle Temp 32c, load temp 45c at 1.344, 50c at 1.401v

CPUZ RAM:

Frequency 399.6mhz
5:6
5 clocks
6 clocks
6 clocks
18 clocks

Ram voltage has been set +0.3, +0.35,+0.4 in bios with no effect on stability (or 2.1, 2.15,2.2 volts)

(as you can see the ram is set below its rated timings)

I can assure you all settings are correct, and -should- be working, it also works just fine in memtest 86+, and small FTT is fine, so why the crash in 'blend' mode in orthos?

Sounds like one of the cores is not happy at 3ghz, as memtest works fine and blend fails, which tests the cores as well as ram. Try running at 2.9ghz and see if its any better.

Interesting, ill give it ago, how come it works in small FTT mode then? Both cores are tested here

small FTT puts more stress on CPU than RAM, whereas blend does both. try increasing chipset voltage, that might help a bit, it does sound like its the chipset becoming unstable as it only freezes when both CPU and memory are underload
