Ok, not sure whether it should be in Linux or a Hardware section, so move if need be.
Anyway, I recently recovered my EVGA NForce 680I Mobo, and so I have put that to use, and I wanted to go on MINT 9 with it.
Anyway, the CD started to boot, and after a short time, it failed and the text screen came up with an error saying that it cannot find teh file system?
Ok, I tried another disk, but that did the same...
Fine, the DVDROM might not be quite there, so I dumped a copy of the master ISO onto a flash drive to boot from that instead, but that gave me the same error?
Now, Im also sorting another system out, so I tried the disks and the USB Flah in that PC and it works fine.
So, what gives?
I have a Win7/64 Install ready on a Flash disk that I used the other day, so I tried that out and its gone onto the EVGA just fine.
I went all the way through to it asking for a Serial and I stopped it there as its more than enough for the test, plus I dotn have a licence for that Setup with Win7.
I then opened a brand new DVDRW and that does the exact same thing.
So what the hell gives now?
The basics are that I simply cannot install Linux onto the EVGA 680I Motherboard, but Windows is just fine.
I have also tried Ubuntu 9.10 x64 too.
The Media is perfectly fine, as are the hardware too. I have no issues with Windows.
Is there somethign that I am missing or should I be ok with it?
