I'm building a new rig for a mate of mine. Everything is fine except I am unable to install XP onto the drive. It gets to the point where it asks for which partition to install on, and it fails at formatting the partition, or installing on a partition that I made using partition magic pro.
This is the first time I have ever used a SATA drive so I am a bit unsure what to do.
Maybe there is something I have missed? The drive is showing up perfectly in the BIOS and even in the XP install proccess.. just tells me that it cannot format/install to the drive, it may be faulty etc. The DVD drive I'm using is also SATA and that doesn't have any problems running the install disk.
